ESpanix are kindly offering a tour of Madrid city center followed by lunch at the Plaza de España.


Some of the sights you can expect to visit include a typical tour of Madrid’s city centre takes you through the city’s main squares, streets, and landmarks:

  • Puerta del Sol, the bustling heart of Madrid

  • Plaza Mayor, known for its arcades, cafés, and history

  • Royal Palace and Almudena Cathedral nearby

  • Gran Vía, the city’s main shopping and theatre street

  • Plaza de España and its monument to Cervantes

  • El Retiro Park or the Prado Museum for art and relaxation

Tour of ESpanix Data Center

Depending on interest, our hosts are offering a visit of the ESpanix Data Center from 15:30 to 17:00, for 30 people maximum on a first come, first served basis. If you would like to register for this tour, please email secretariat@euroix.net.

 

DCO Workshop - Michel Lanners André Grüneberg

This technical workshop is about deployment of DCO (digital coherent optics) transceivers in modern networks. We want to cover the following topics:

  • Transceiver hardware for Coherent transmission and 400GE and beyond
  • Optical interface and standards
  • Means for overcoming physical limitations and how to configure them
  • Deployment in the real world

The workshop presenters will be representatives of Arista, BCIX, Flexoptix, Nokia and Smartoptics

 

Participants should have technical experience with network devices and some traditional transceivers (10G, 100G, 400G). More experienced technicians are welcome to share their experience.
