Schiphol Airport to NH City Centre Hotel

Local currency: The local currency in The Netherlands is the EUR.

If you have not brought EUR cash with you from your own country, one is able to change foreign currency and travellers cheques at the 'Bureau de change' in the arrival terminal where one will also find some ATMs which accept most international cash cards.

There are three transportation options for getting from the Airport to the NH City Centre Hotel:

  1. Train (Recommended):
    • A ticket costs 3.60 EUR. These tickets can either be bought from the yellow ticket machines or the ticket sales counter. Tickets can NOT be bought on the train!
    • Once you have a ticket follow the signs to the train station which is one level below the arrivals terminal. Look on the information board for any train that goes to "Amsterdam Centraal". Generally these trains leave from platform 1, 2 or 3 and depart every 10 - 15 minutes. Map of Schiphol Airport arrival Terminal
    • The train journey takes approximately 15-20 minutes. You will hear an audio announcement just before the train arrives at the central station. Walk to the Main (or south) Exit of the station.
    • From here one can either walk 10 - 15 minutes to the hotel (see map for direction) or take tram 1, 2 or 5 from central station. The trams leave quite frequently and cost 1.60 EUR. Tickets can be bought on board the tram (cash only).
    • Take the tram to the third stop called "Spui". From here it is a very short walk to the hotel

What can I say? Some of you know me, I think?

I was around at the start of Euro-IX, and served on the Board from the beginning for a long time. I've been CEO of LINX for what seems a *very* long time, but I am retiring from that role at the end of 2019.

I might say a bit about both of those things at the forum in Zandaam.
