Accommodation
Hotel Regina
Rooseveltplatz 15, 1090 Vienna

Our forum venue, The Main Ceremonial Hall is the heart of the ceremonial hall area at the Main Building of the University of Vienna. The famous reproductions of Gustav Klimt’s ceiling paintings and the statues of Duke Rudolf IV and Maria Theresa provide an impressive atmosphere and befit festive occasions.

From Hotel Regina at Rooseveltplatz 15, the University of Vienna is very close and easily reached on foot. After leaving the hotel, walk along Universitätsstraße toward Schottentor. After approximately three minutes (about 300 metres), you will arrive at the main building of the University of Vienna on your right-hand side. Enter through the main entrance; the Main Ceremonial Hall (Großer Festsaal) is clearly signposted inside the building.

If you prefer to use public transport, walk for about two minutes to Schottentor, which is a major U-Bahn and tram hub. From there, take any tram running along the Ringstraße in the direction of Schwedenplatz (for example lines 1, 2, or D). Get off at the next stop, “Universität.” From the stop, cross the street to the main university building, enter through the main entrance, and follow the internal signage to the Großer Festsaal. The total travel time by public transport is approximately five to ten minutes.

Getting to Hotel Regina from Vienna International Airport (VIE)

From the airport there are several convenient public transport options to reach Hotel Regina.

Take the S7 suburban train from Vienna Airport directly to Wien Praterstern. From Praterstern, change to the U-Bahn line U2 in the direction of Karlsplatz and travel to Schottentor (Universität). From the station, Hotel Regina is approximately 400 metres away, about a 5-minute walk, located at Rooseveltplatz 15 next to the Votive Church. This route also takes around 40–50 minutes in total.

An alternative is to take the S7 suburban train from the airport to Wien Mitte / Landstraße. From there, change to U-Bahn line U4 in the direction of Heiligenstadt and travel to Schottenring. At Schottenring, change to tram line 1, 2, or D in the direction of Schottentor and get off at Schottentor. From the stop, Hotel Regina at Rooseveltplatz 15 is a short walk of about two minutes. Total travel time is approximately 40–50 minutes.

By Taxi or Private Transfer:
A taxi from Vienna International Airport (VIE) to Hotel Regina in the city centre typically takes about 20–30 minutes, depending on traffic. Official taxis waiting outside the arrivals hall use a meter, and the fare to central Vienna is usually around €35–€50 during daytime hours. In the evenings or at night this can be a bit higher (often up to roughly €60–€75), and fixed-price airport transfer services will quote similar ranges if booked in advance.

If you prefer ride-hailing apps like Uber or Bolt, estimated costs are often in the range of about €30–€45 for the airport-to-city ride, with similar travel times of about 20–30 minutes.

Please note that these prices are approximate and may vary depending on traffic, time of day, and vehicle type.
