Arnold Nipper (born 1958) holds a degree in mathematics and helped found DE-CIX. As CTO/COO, he oversaw operations and directed technical development from 2000 to 2015. Since 2016, he has served as Chief Technology Evangelist. DE-CIX in Frankfurt am Main stands as the world’s largest Internet Exchange, where Internet Service Providers (ISPs) exchange traffic (peering). DE-CIX operates IXPs in over 60 metropolitan areas worldwide. Arnold Nipper served as a Euro-IX board member and acted as Euro-IX liaison for IX-F, the Internet Exchange Federation. He also served on the PeeringDB board until April 2019 and has been actively participating in PeeringDB since 2008, holding various roles within the organization. Arnold is also a board member of APIX, currently serving as the Treasurer.
