The best way to reach Original Sokos Hotel Ilves from the railway station is on foot.
Exit the railway station following the signs for Keskusta (city centre).
Starting from the left side of the railway station's parking area (as viewed from the railway station door), walk to the end of Verkatehtaankatu and you will come straight to Original Sokos Hotel Ilves. The distance is approximately 500 metres.
The best way to reach Original Sokos Hotel Ilves from the bus station is on foot.
You can get to Original Sokos Hotel Ilves by walking towards the city centre from the bus station along Hatanpään valtatie. The distance is approximately 300 metres.
It take approx. 2.30 hours to get to the hotel from Helsinki Airport. Take the train from Helsinki Lentoasema to Tikkurila and change there for the train to Tampere asema. From Tampere asema, it is approx 6 minute walk to the Hotel. The train cost is from 18€ to 32€.

Arnold Nipper (born 1958) holds a degree in mathematics and is one of the founding fathers of DE-CIX where in his capacity as CTO/COO he has been responsible for operations and technical development from 2000 until 2015. Since 2016 he is Chief Technology Evangelist. The DE-CIX in Frankfurt am Main is the largest Internet Exchange worldwide where traffic exchange between Internet Service Providers (peering) takes place. DE-CIX also runs IXP in Hamburg, Dusseldorf, Munich, Palermo, Marseille, Madrid, Istanbul, Dallas and New York and operates the UAE-IX in Dubai. Arnold Nipper also served as board member at the Euro-IX, the umbrella association of Internet Exchanges for the RIPE region and was Euro-IX liasion for IX-F, the Internet Exchange Federation. Furthermore, Arnold was also a board member of PeeringDB until 04/2019 and is engaged in PeeringDB since 2008 in various roles.

Florian Hibler is a Systems Engineer at Arista Networks , where he is mainly supporting companies around the German-speaking region on network solutions in datacenter and service provider networks. He has about 14 years of SP/IXP experience due to his former engagements in the IP networking industry.
Florian serves as a board member at DENOG and is part of the Product Committee of PeeringDB.

Maria Isabel Gandía is the Head of the Networking Unit at CSUC, the Consortium for University Services in Catalonia. At CSUC, she manages the Catalonia internet exchange, CATNIX and the regional research and education network in Catalonia, Anella Científica.
She collaborates as part of the Benchmarking Club for the Euro-IX association. She is also an active member and an organizer of the ESNOG (Spanish Network Operators Group) and is currently a member of the RIPE Programme Committee. Regarding research and education, she participates in the GN4-3 (GÉANT) project and is a member of the SIG-NOC (Special Interest Group for Network Operation Centers).

Martin is a seasoned software developer with in-depth knowledge on DNS, inter-domain routing, cryptography, and open standards. He acts as the lead developer of Routinator, is involved in Krill and DNS-related projects. Before joining NLnet Labs, Martin lived further up the stack, developing and operating the server side of real-time communication and VoIP services.
